Another week, another month!!

Buggar me, another week and another month fly by! Anyone not done their tax return yet? Oops, stand by for an automatic fine from the Revenue.
I had some fun and games last year with them ,I'll post the full details over the next few days but I was not happy!

Any got the white paint..............

So, the BBC were totally at fault and the government did absolutely nothing wrong, eh? PAH! I think the real stuff has now got lost. Talk about spin. Ok, so if we concede that the Government didn't make anything up, where did the information actually come from? Who talked about this so called 45 mins problem?
White.Wash and et another reason to hate the government.

He he he, the cold doesn't get to them then!

Amongst all of the lunacy this week associated with the weather, I came (ahem!) across these pictures which I think are hilarios!
If you don't like looking at snowmen being rude, don't go there! Otherwise, enjoy!

Hey! This sits nicely with the fee debate!

I found this this morning. The highlighted quote fits well with current events at Westminster you think?

Don't you dare throw that snowball at me.!

You know, some people should just lighten up a little. You should be careful who you throw snowballs at though.

Is That it?
posted by Bloggy on 29/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Ooo, watch out everybody, lots and lots and lots and lots and....(well, you get the picture!)lots of snow coming your way everybody.
Ok, thanks Mr Weatherman......................tum, tum................................tee, tum..................... (taps fingers).........tum tum, tee................hang on, is that s..n..o..w.....no, don't think so.... hang on! There it is! Oo, we had an inch last night. Oo, we had 2 inches. Ahem, we had 3 inches.

Wow, a real blizzard.........not!

What the heck was yesterday all about then? Yes, yes, yes, I know the roads were icy, I know it felt very cold. But it was hardly arctic conditions now, was it?

Panic buying of food, people staying at home. Sheesh, good job we only get a snow flurry once or twice a year, otherwise the place would grind to a halt.

What a complate con!

So, Blair breathes a sigh of relief, as he scrapes through on the fees vote and it seems that the government will escape on the Hutton report.
So, have we got Tony all wrong? Hmm, what do you think? I know what I think and it begins with an n and ends with an o, a resounding NO.

I used to believe that a government acted in the best interests of the electorate and that it respected the people. Maybe I was too generous towards MP's. Now? Well, with the exception of a few, they all act with a huge dollop of self-interest.

This current government is turning this country into a bigger mess than it was in before they got in.

Thing is, wheb are we going to collectively stand up and say - ENOUGH?

Oh, sure, there are factions standing against the government but these tend to be berated and ridiculed by all and sundry, as loony left wingers, etc.

More on this when I have more time.

Have a crap day everybody.

Oh, and why is everything we do in this country decided by America or Europe? Makes me bloody angry FFS.
Its here!
posted by Bloggy on 28/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Well, the promised snow arrived last night. 50 minutes and 2 inches. Whats more, we are promised another dump this morning during rush hour. Happy days.
I find it somewhat ironic, that dad with the 4wheeler, gets stuck at home looking after kids who can't go to school because its shut as well as taking mum to work because she can't/won't drive in the snow!
Oh unhappy days!!

Speed cameras anybody?

posted by Bloggy

Cheers all. on 27/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

I see that there is a review taking place of all of the speed cameras we have. Apparently, some of them may not be sited in the correct place, in line with strict guideleines.
Er, so what? If you are speeding and you are caught by a cop, you must accept that you were in the wrong. Why is a camera any different?
You may find them annoying, you may hate them but if you steal a bar of chocolate from a shop, is it the shops fault, your fault or the bar of chocolates fault?
Get ma drift?

Oh, and the other thing. If you are in a 30 zone, guess what the maximum speed is? Yes, thats right, 30.
Not 35 or 37 or 34 - 30,
right?

WTF is going on 'ere then??

Cheers all. on 27/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

I work in York and yesterday, there was some right funny business going on outside our office windows. The police drove up and down the road outside, all day and, naturally, we were wondering WTF was going on. They parked up and down the road all day. Two patrol cars and a bike plus vans and little police cars from time to time. You know, a lot of them at it.
Naturally, we thought they were looking for something, terror threat, escaped criminal, that sort of thing.
Turns out they were simply pulling cars over. Old cars, maybe without up to date tax discs.

Thats a useful use of all that training and equipment then.

Sod the muggings, assaults, burglaries, abusive anti-social behaviour, murders and so on which may have been going on. Nic the motorist, thats the stuff chaps.

Idiots.

I was talking to a colleague yesterday, about what was going on outside and we both agreed that whilst we do not hate the police themselves, per se, we do hate how they operate now and the way they are being driven.

It does concern me enormously, that this government is restricting the rights of us all, gradually, and we are not, as a collective lot, that bothered or aware it seems.

However, you all have a lovely day. We have a little snow here this morning, whoopeee!!

Never ceases to amaze and disappoint me, how nasty we Brits are to one another when we are behind our cars wheel.

Take this morning. A car was overtaking, coming towards me, causing me to slow down and move to the left. Not by much but thats not the point.
When I flashed my lights, guess what response I got?

Yes, you at the back................

Well done sir. I got the two fingers from the passenger. The driver couldn't, as he was concentrating on threading his "P" reg Ford 1.6l pile of shite through the diminishing gap in front of him.

Next up, a Merc long wheelbase van, later this morning.

I approach a roundabout, not indicating, as I am going straight across. Does he stop?

Yes, you at the back again................

Correct again. More wear on my own brakes and a little less life left in the horn.

Please, people, if you mess up, don't blame me. It's your fault, allright?
Ok, ok, ok. I have had enough. I am sick of the US F.....g up our world.

I have never, ever, ever, come across a country, so full of herding, thick, brainwashed people as can be found in America. Get a load of these:-

Look at this. If you are fat - stop eating! It is surely that easy? If you dont, you get fat.

Whoa, now here is a website that knows its own mind! Hey, don't shoot the messenger, ok?

Oh, and while I am on the subject, here is another. Some interesting stuff on here, oh yes!

So, there you are, in the bad old US, looking around. Do you look at everything and say, thats not as good as we have, oh thats big, oh look Martha, like ours at home, except not as good? No, of course you don't. They do though. They come into our citys, towns, streets, houses, like they own the world. Rights brasses me off it does.Know what I mean?

Hey! Land of the free. Greatest democracy on the planet. Free speech? My ass free speech.

Don't think Americans are stupid? Buy the book then!

You think all americans are stupid? NO, not all, just lots of 'em.

And now - prepare for

The Grand Finale!

No prizes for guessing who the finale involves but hey, look, a great site full of songs about him! I like this one myself. Enjoy them all.

Ooo, here is one about his visit last year!

Aha, now I have the seedling of an idea. I could be making my debut as a picture blogger shortly, if you know what I mean! More anti-Us shit to follow.

They don't count, they are only Iraq civilians.

posted by Bloggy

Cheers all. on 21/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Seems that if you are an Iraq civilian, the rules go out of the window when it comes to the UK and the US and how much force they use during the battle to "free" the Iraq people and since.

I must be thick. I just don't get it. If Saddam was toppled because he was such a terrible leader and committed so many atrocities by killing people all the time, what makes him different to the UK and US forces in there at the moment? The number of deaths he caused? Or how he did it? Or why he did it?

Yes, I'm thick. I don't understand it at all. Still, at least our government seems to know what they are doing.

Consequently, blogging today is likely to be thin, though that depends on how I get on!

Feel free to pop back later or drop me a note of encouragement, eh?

Backlater. You all have a great Monday morning.............what, no chance? Oh well.

Oh, I knew I would forget something! There is a new personality of the week. Please check him out, he is a closet blogger! That means he does it through me!

Well, hats off to Manic, over at Bloggerheads yet again, for digging up this fantastic piece. Thanks Tim.

He also pointed me at this . Be warned, it is bloody horrific. It is easy to have a go at this out of context but it does seem to be done in very cold blooded terms.

I really am quite speechless about it.
The Clare Short situation

posted by Blogman on 16/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Our old friend Manic over at Bloggerheads, is asking for people to join him in defending Ms Clare Short, against The Sun and that papers attempts to rubbish her views.
Now, those of you who know me well, will know that I like the female form, maybe more than the average guy.
Logically, you would expect me, therefore, to be against the stand of aforementioned Ms Short.
In actual fact, I am in whole hearted support of her and here is why.

I/we all live in a democracy (though the degree of democracy is diminishing) in which we can all have a view. Whether my view is the same as your view is irrelevant, we each can have a view. As an intelligent human being (I think!), I have always tried to respect peoples views, whether I agreed or not.
I also think, that the world has relaxed too much about things like swearing on TV, putting up with swearing in public places and so on. Additionally, I think that whilst any adult should be able to buy and view adult films, magazines, etc, these should absolutely not be available in any shape or form for minors and that includes "The Sun" and its "traditional" page three girls.

I never, ever, buy this paper, as it contains nothing of interest. If I want a paper, I buy one with proper news in it.

The above view does not of itself make me:-

  • Fat
  • Grumpy
  • Intolerant
which is what Ms Short is being called and accused of which is just ridiculous frankly.
So I say

Leave Clare Short Alone!

I was gonna link into "The Sun" today but there may be minors reading this page, so I won't but Manic has an excellent article on his page with good links (non booby showing ones!), so nip over to his page and see whats going on.
Also, leave a message of support for Clare Short. Or not. Your decision, obviously.

Goodbye Harold

posted by Blogman on 14/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Much has already been written about the death of Harold Shipman. This BBC link has an interesting map at the foot of the page which shows how the killings gathered pace.

Shame this chap won't live with his guilt any more but, depending on your beliefs, he is now either rotting in hell for all eternity or mixing it up with the spirits of the people he killed and being bollocked by the elder spirits or he simply no longer exists. Take your pick.

Does Blogman believe in political carrectness?

posted by Blogman on 14/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Well now, this is a big topic to tackle. However, I have for some considerable time, been driven absolutely barmy by crackpot views on what we can and cannot say. The current uproar about Robert Kilroy-Silk is a case in point.

To " have to" be politically correct can only mute real views and opinions, as people worry too much about how people will receive there views.

The simple facts are that when a suicide bomber strikes, it is usually someone in the middle east - not always - but usually. I don't remember any IRA suicide bombers (not intentionally, anyway).

From a western perspective, Arabs do repress their women. That is their custom. We don't, they do.

So I say, good on you RKS for speaking the truth about something. It's about time we kicked PC into touch and started dealing with the real issues facing the world instead of worrying about semantics.

Just because I hate PC, does not mean I will treat any body badly, quite the opposite, in fact, as I am not distracted by trying to tread a thin line.
Anyone out there got views on PC?

Why am I reminded of the Film "Billy Liar?"

posted by Blogman on 13/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

This reminds me of it for some reason.

Earthquake predictions

posted by Blogman on 13/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

So what if a scientist can predict earthquakes months in advance Why I could predict probably years in advance future world events. For example, I predict within the next couple of years, the US will invade/overthrow/march in uninvited/ignore international views/throw their might around and not give a stuff. Of course, I can't be certain of where this will be, just that it will happen somewhere and be justified in some way.

Just look at Menwith Hill near us, what the hell goes on their and thats on our turf. You think we will know exactly what goes on up there? I think not.

"Election coming, quick, how can I look good guys"
After much (and I mean much, because that is a tough request), they come up with a moonbase - scary stuff people, scary stuff.

Now thats interesting

posted by Blogman on 9/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

I was somewhat intrigued by Manics post yesterday about the lunar landings being fake. Sometimes I wonder if I go round with my eyes firmly shut because, whilst I had heard that some people thought they where fake, I had never seen any evidence.

That caused me to start digging for interesting information surrounding this matter. This amused me, a few wild stabs in the dark here I think!

By way of contrast, this article gives a better view.

Balance that out with a read of this site and you'll probably end up as confused as me!!

Of course, things wouldn't be balanced if I didn't include something from the church now, would it?

So, thank sagain to Manic for opening my eyes. The older I get, the more I learn, the harder I look, the more I come to realise, that we haven't got a clue about what really goes on in our world - and that can't be right.
Annoying "old" Google stuff

posted by Blogman on 8/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Well, ok, maybe not decades but you get my drift. This one, for example, came up after I typed in "Wacky news".

These people should be banned! Anyhow, how come Google doesn't drop them down the order somewhat? Any comments, please? Thank You.

Well hey, guess what? Yes, thats right, now my monitor is jumping around like a special services agent during a visit to the UK.
When - WHEN - will my technical problems cease, eh? Bloody machines.

Anyway, on a brighter note, today my new business partner and I secured our first bit of work - hurrah!!

Ah, well, now, you don't want to do that..................

posted by Blogman on 8/1/2004 at 07:00 GMT

Why, why, oh why, do people insist on telling you how you should do everything differently?

Yet, those same people, if you told them, would respond with"oh, no, I wouldn't want to do that" or "no, that wouldn't work" and
so on.

So, all people, please note, unless we are having a discussion where it is obvious that we are exchanging views, keep your f.....g mouth shut, ok?

Eh, examples? OK.

The wife and I had a quick exchange of views tonight on something relatively................no, absolutely, unimportant. I finsihed the discussion about, oh....lets see now, 20 minutes before she did. In the end I had to say, "lets just agree to disagree, ok?"

Even then it was touch and go. Enough, ok?

Course, when I am being disagreed with, they are being helpful. When I am disagreeing with them, I am being a grumpy old man. Bollocks, thats what I say.
Some days you wonder, you just bloody wonder.
